In 1991, the idea of starting a bakery was born. Our founders Armando and Emilce Gelista began baking bread from a small apartment, selling and delivering it door-to-door and to local businesses. As demand for their bread continued to grow, they realized it was time to turn their efforts into a formal business.

On June 15, 1995, Panadería Guatemalteca "La Mejor" officially opened its doors in Garland, Texas. Since then, we have proudly remained a family-owned and operated business, built on tradition, hard work, and love.
