In 1991, the idea of starting a bakery was born. Our founders Armando and Emilce Gelista began baking bread from a small apartment, selling and delivering it door-to-door and to local businesses. As demand for their bread continued to grow, they realized it was time to turn their efforts into a formal business. ​ On June 15, 1995, Panadería Guatemalteca "La Mejor" officially opened its doors in Garland, Texas. Since then, we have proudly remained a family-owned and operated business, built on tradition, hard work, and love. ​ Today, we welcome you to visit our two locations in Garland and Carrollton,Texas. Where families can come together and enjoy authentic flavor baked goods and Guatemalan home dishes—just like we make at home.
